ALBERTO C. AGRA
About Alberto C. Agra





His areas of interest, specialization and practice are elections, local governments, public/government corporations and public officers. Before his appointment as Government Corporate Counsel, he served as counsel and consultant to national and local officials, national government agencies, local governments, leagues of local government, government corporations, civic organizations and political organizations.

He is a Professor of Laws at the Ateneo School of Law since 1993. He teaches Law on Public/Government Corporations, Election Law, the 1991 Local Government Code, Administrative Law and Law on Public Officers. He is a holder of three Ateneo Law Professional chairs. He is also a faculty member of the Development Academy of the Philippines (Masters in Public Management, Major in Local Governance and Management) and the Ateneo Graduate School of Business – Health Unit (Leaders for Health Program).

He has authored several publications and reference materials on Local Governance and Elections – Local Governance: Case Law on Local Autonomy and Local Governance, Compilation of Recent Legislation on Local Government, Compendium on Local Autonomy, CD-Rom on Local Governments (part of Lex Libris Series of CD Asia), Policy Framework on Municipal Bonds, Financing Local infrastructure Projects Through Joint Ventures, Decentralization over Water Resources – Water Districts, Watersheds and Water Resources; Elections: Survey of New Laws and Recent Jurisprudence on Philippine Elections, Primer on the Party-List System, Comparative Survey of Electoral Systems, Election Law Study Aids.

He is a graduate of the College of Law, Ateneo de Manila University in 1990. He passed the Philippine Bar in 1991. He obtained his Bachelor in Arts major in Philosophy in 1984 at the University of the Philippines, Diliman.

He is married to Evangeline Lim-Agra and is a father of two – Jessica Marie (15) and Noel Antonio (13).
